What is MilesFlip?

Milesflip is a global auction platform for loyalty points/miles of frequent flyer programs.

What is a FFP?

FFP is short for “Frequent Flyer Program”. Nearly all airlines provide for their customers a loyalty program. The client can earn miles/points for flight-, hotel- or rental car – bookings. In return it´s possible to redeem this miles/points for upgrades, free flights/hotel stays/car rentals, or for buying items on a dedicated internet-shop.


How long does it take to get verified?

The verification process can take up to 24 hours to complete.


Am I allowed so sell and buy Miles/Points?

Many FFP allows to transfer miles/points to other members of the same FFP. Miles/points are private property of the customer, therefore you´re free to choose how you want to spend, or to whom you want to transfer them.


How much are the transaction fees of my FFP?

This depends on the FFP. Please check the T&C of your FFP.


Which currencies are accepted?

Our site is based on USD, however you can select GBP or EUR at the top of the page for instant conversion rates.


Can transferred Miles/Points expire?

Every FFP has different rules. Mostly received miles/points get renewed with a new expiration time limit, but we recommend to check the T&C of the FFP. 


What types of Miles/Points can I transfer?

Nearly all FFP distinguish between bonus miles/points or status miles/points. The status miles/points define your personal level inside the FFP. Bonus miles/points are the loyalty earnings of a customer, which can be redeemed or transferred to other FFP members. We always recommend to check the T&C of the FFP.


How can I register for MilesFlip?

You can register for free on our website (MilesFlip.com) by clicking on the “My Account” button at the top of the page.


What information are required?

In the first step the user has to create a Username and Password, and has to provide an existing e-mail account to confirm the registration. In the next step a verification with an existing PayPal account is necessary, therefore personal data (name, address and phone-number) and an annual verification fee of USD $1,00 is required to check the accuracy of the account.

How do I create an auction?


Just on Milesflip.com registered and verified users can create an auction. After login-in the user has to click the “Sell” button at the top of the page, after that an auction form-sheet will open where all required details must get filled out.



What types of Miles/Points can I offer?

What are the timelines of an auction?


The user is free to choose an expiry date and time. But he/she has also the possibility to choose the duration out of a list, starting with one day, up to 60 days.


What information are required?


A form-sheet will guide the user through the process. It is necessary to mention the amount of Miles/Points, the FFP and transfer fees.


What should I consider for transaction fees?


The FFP will charge transfer fees for sending miles/points to other members. Please check carefully the T&C of the FFP about these costs before you create an auction.


What is MilesFlip charging for each auction?

Can I suspend an auction?


As long as no buyer bid already on the auction / Buy-now, the seller can suspend an auction / buy-now.


Can I define a minimum value for an auction?

The user can choose a start-price for “auctions”, or a fixed-price for “buy now”.


Is there a minimum or maximum amount of Miles/Points?

This depends on the FFP. There are mostly annual limits for sending or receiving miles/points. Please check the T&C of the FFP carefully before you create or bid for an auction if this may exceed your personal limits. 


What if I recognize, that I´ve offered a wrong amount of Miles/Points?

The user can delete or amend his listing as long as no other user bid already on the auction, or bought Miles/Points through “buy now”. In an ongoing auction should the user contact our support team (auctions@milesflip.com). 


What if the amount of my listed Miles/Points exceeds my transaction limit?

The transaction must get cancelled. Every FFP has their own transaction limits, so the seller must check the T&C of his/her FFP.


What happens after an auction successfully ends?

After a successful auction the money gets directly transferred from the buyer to the seller. The buyer has to provide within 7 days after the auction / buy-now all necessary details from his/her FFP to transfer the miles.


What happens to unsuccessfully closed auctions?

The listing gets deleted when no one bids on an auction or buys the Miles/Points within the defined duration. The user is free to list this auction / buy-now again.


How do I receive the money?

All Milesflip users are verified via PayPal. After a successful auction the money gets directly transferred from the buyer to the seller.


How do I send my Miles/Points to the bidder/buyer?

The buyer has to provide within 7 days after the auction / buy-now all necessary details from his/her FFP to transfer the miles. After receiving all required details the seller has 7 days to transfer the Miles/Points to the buyers FFP. We recommend to forward a transaction confirmation of the Miles/Point to the buyer.


How can I bid on an auction?


Just on Milesflip.com registered and verified users can bid on an auction or buy the Miles/Points directly. 


How do I get informed about a won auction?

The user will receive an e-mail from Milesflip.com with all details. Won auctions will be also shown in the users dashboard.


How do I receive the Miles/Points?

The buyer has to provide within 7 days after the auction / buy-now all necessary details from his/her FFP to transfer the miles. After receiving all required details the seller has 7 days to transfer the Miles/Points to the buyers FFP. We recommend to forward a transaction confirmation of the Miles/Point to the buyer.


What if the seller is not sending the Miles/Points?

When the buyer sent all required details to the seller, and the seller is not transferring the agreed Miles/Points or a wrong amount of Miles/Points, the buyer has the right to receive the whole amount back. Therefore the buyer must claim this in his dashboard, and the amount gets retransferred via PayPal.


What if the amount of bought Miles/Points exceeds my transaction limit?

The transaction must get cancelled. Every FFP has their own transaction limits, so the buyer must check the T&C of his/her FFP. 


Can I expect any additional fees from my FFP?

Every FFP has their own transaction fees, so the buyer must check the T&C of his/her FFP.


Under what circumstances can I claim my money back?

When the seller cannot transfer the full amount of Miles/Points, or the seller is not transferring the Miles/Points within 7 days.


How do I get my money back?

Therefore the buyer must follow the steps on his dashboard.
